About Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada
Heart & Stroke is a leading funder of life-saving research, which has led to breakthroughs such as heart transplant surgery and a revolutionary stroke treatment that cuts the death rate by 50%.
The organization empowers Canadians to live healthier lives — from preventing and controlling high blood pressure to getting more physical activity. And they fight for change that will create better health for all, such as reducing salt in the food supply and improving access to stroke rehabilitation.
About Canadian sudden arrhythmia death syndromes (Sads) foundation
Rob Bosinger, a healthy and fit ski racer, died suddenly in his sleep on May 20, 2005, of cardiac arrhythmia at the age of 38, leaving behind a wife and 7-month-old son.
Raising over $60,000 since inception, the Rob Bosinger Memorial Weekend gives annually to The Canadian SADS Foundation, the only patient advocacy group in Canada dedicated to supporting families affected by inherited cardiac rhythm disorders. The Canadian SADS Foundation is committed to raising awareness about the warning signs for these potentially devastating disorders.
